Become an authorWho may become an author?Anyone who is a final year trainee or consultant in a neuroscience speciality is welcome to write a course What people do I need? You will need two authors and a senior reviewer How do I decide on a topic? Please look at the courses that are already available and try to avoid too much overlap. Note that courses under development are not shown. If you just want to write something but don't mind what then please contact us and we will allocate a course to you. Is authorship a lot of work? There is a some work putting these courses together, you will need to collate resources, get consent from patients and generate questions. It is roughly similar to writing a review article. I already have all the material I needThere are strict rules on patient consent for scans and other images - this might stop you using some of the material you already have. There is also the need to do podcasts and questions. Whilst the material you have will be a good start it is likely that you will need to develop some new material as well. Will I have a deadline?Yes - usually around 2 months I have no technical ability - does this matter? No. The software is really easy to use but if you can't master it then send us the material and we will upload it for you. Am I paid? No. You do it for free! Why on earth would I want to do this? You will be recognised as the author for this course and have the satisfaction of knowing that you are teaching neuroscience doctors to do things your way! It looks good on your CV It is quite fun seeing what you can do with the software Someone has to write the material and if you don't others might write it in a way that you don't agree with OK how do I proceed?
